Good facilitation starts with understanding the topic, the interests of the audience, and the motivations and perspectives of the speakers. Only then can you create an environment where everyone’s needs are met.
As a journalist, I learned the importance of knowing your audience and of delivering stories and insights that not only inform but also create change. I also learned how to bring complex topics to life in ways that are both relatable and meaningful.
That same mindset underpins my approach to event facilitation. Whether I’m hosting a large conference or a lunchtime roundtable, my goal is always the same: to ensure everyone leaves knowing more than when they arrived.
From fireside chats and panel discussions to on-stage interviews, my background and training have equipped me to draw out the best from the people I work with.
Over the past 20 years, I have honed my facilitation and hosting skills across a wide range of event formats, working with organisations including the Australian Food & Grocery Council, the Committee for Melbourne, AHRI, Logicalis Australia, and WorkSafe Tasmania, as well as event partners such as 121connects, 6 Degrees Media and Clutch Events.
